Coaches

Director:  Ryan Eichner

Ryan Eichner is currently the head lacrosse coach at Red Bank Catholic High School.  He started the program in 2005.  Coach Eichner was awarded Coach of the Year in 2008 after leading RBC to a share of the division title and a 15-3 record. His prior coaching experiences include an assistant coach at Freehold Twp. HS and Parkside HS, Salisbury, MD.   Coach was a member of the 1998 State Champion Bridgewater-Raritan HS while earning Player of the Game in the state championship game.  He was a top 10 scorer in New Jersey that year.  Coach attended Salisbury University.  He is currently an elementary Physical Education teacher in Freehold Township.

5th/6th Athenian Coach:  Sal Guastella

Sal Guastella is currently the head lacrosse coach at Holmdel High School and director of Hooplax.  Coach was the head lacrosse coach at St. John Vianney HS and was an original coach spending five years with the Rumson youth program.  He played lacrosse at Farmingdale HS in Long Island, a perennially nationally ranked program.  He helped Montclair State College to a top 20 finish D3 and won a Conference Championship.  Coach Guastella was a top 10 D3 scorer in 1981. 

Coach:  Matt Krug

Coach Krug is currently the assistant lacrosse coach at Red Bank Catholic HS.  His prior coaching experience includes Don Bosco Prep HS.  He attended top 10 in the state Westfield HS and continued his lacrosse career at Hofstra University and Washington College.  Coach Krug was a two time All-American defender at Washington College. 

Coach: Ryan McAleavy 

Coach McAleavy is currently the head lacrosse coach at Red Bank Regional High School.  Coach come to us with vast experience.  Coach was an All-American at Dowling College where is he is the all-time leader in goals and points.  His coaching career started at Dowling College as an assistant coach.  He moved to Major League Lacrosse as an assistant coach of the New Jersey Pride.  In 2006 he helped lead Suffolk Community College to the national championship game as an assistant coach.  He began coaching in New Jersey in 2009.

Coach: Mark Alter

Coach Alter most recently was the head lacrosse coach at Red Bank Regional HS.  He was the assistant boys coach at Clifton HS before coaching the girls at RBR.  He captured the division championship in 2005 as the head coach of the girl’s team.  He started the boys program at RBR in 2006. In 2008 he led RBR to a share of the Division title.  Coach started his playing career at Clifton HS and continued at Montclair State.

7th/8th Trojan Coach: Jason Lynch

Coach Lynch is currently the head lacrosse coach at Jackson Liberty HS.  He was an assistant coach at both East Brunswick and St. Joes Metuchen prior.  Coach played at Eas Brunswick High School before continuing his playing career at Wesley College in Delaware.  In college, he was part of a two time Pennsylvania Athletic League and ECAC championship team.  He was named All-Conference while leading Wesley college in scoring.  He was also named aot the All-Conference Academic Team.  Coach Lynch is currently a middle school technology teacher in the Jackson Middle School. 

Coach: Frank Finochio

Coach Finochio is currently an assistant lacrosse coach at Holmdel High School .  Coach played long stick midfield at Western New England College .  He began his coaching career at Felix Festa Middle School and continued coaching at Lakeland High School in Westchester, NY before moving to the shore area. Lakeland plays in one of the top conferences in the nation.

7th/8th Trojan Coach: Paul Fleming

Coach Fleming is originally from Summit, NJ where he began his teaching and coaching career.  He eventually migrated south brining with him a combined 18 plus years of experience not only as a teacher but as a coach and certified personal trainer. He was a three-sport athlete in HS playing lacrosse, football and wrestling.  After HS he attended New England College where he played as a midfielder and specialized in the face-off part of the game.  In college his team won two Conference titles and he was chosen as a team captain in his final season.  Coach Fleming is currently working as a PE teacher and coach at the Rumson Country Day School where he is an assistant coach for both the boy’s lacrosse and football teams. He has also served as a volunteer assistant for the Red Bank Regional boy’s lacrosse team working closely with the defensive unit.

Coach: Anthony Bonjavani

Coach Bonjavani is currently an assistant coach at Jackson Liberty HS.  He is a recent graduate from the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, where he was a two year midfield starter for the Ospreys. A graduate in 2005 from Howell High School where he was selected to the first team all shore conference, and helped lead the Rebels to the semi finals of the Shore Conference Tournament. In the summer of 2008, Anthony played on the USA Athletes International team that won both the Berlin Open and the Prague Cup, going undefeated in both European tournaments. He is currently enrolled in graduate school at Georgian Court University for education.

5th/6th Athenian Coach: Scott Cort

Coach Cort began is lacrosse career at Plainview Kennedy High School on Long Island.  He continued playing at the University of Albany.  At Albany, he recieved all-conference at the attack position.  He began coaching at his alma mater Plainview Kennedy.  He has also coached at Bellmore Kennedy HS, Summit HS, and Holmdel HS.  He has coached at the youth level as well while running the Mavericks program.  Coach Cort is currently assisting Red Bank Regional High School.
